This wilderness experience, for women who are overcoming family abuse, couples challenging activities with therapy. Hosted by Woowich Community Services, the program involves camping in tents, low ropes, caving, rock climbing and a high ropes course. Each woman is issued new boots which become an inspiration when life becomes difficult ie.. “I climbed the mountain in these boots… I can deal with …”. WCF is proud to have funded new boots for these women learning how courageous they can be. As one participant reflected, “Even today I reflect and draw upon the challenges I experienced there to realize that facing and mastering those still helps me maintain my strength and confidence”.
